Job Summary

Talbert, Bright & Ellington, Inc. is a leading consulting engineering firm seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to support our airport projects. As a Construction Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with contract documents and specifications.
  • Document construction activities and submit regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings with airport staff, contractors, and designers to ensure project progress and address any issues.
  • Review contractor pay applications and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Implement and enforce safety and security protocols on construction sites.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in field inspections involving construction contracts, or associate degree and 5+ years of experience, or bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in civil engineering, construction, and inspection.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain required airport credentials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of FAA and NCDOT construction methods, materials, standards, and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret airfield plans and specifications.
