Job Summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector to join our Transportation Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing construction inspection activities and assisting in the administration of highway and bridge construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction Inspection: Perform construction inspection activities, including monitoring contractor compliance with plans and specifications, establishing engineering controls, and preparing daily inspection reports.
  • Material Testing and Sampling: Perform on-site material testing and sampling, and document the results.
  • Communication and Documentation: Effectively communicate with project staff and clients, both verbally and in writing, and document completed work.
  • Project Administration: Assist in the administration of highway and bridge construction projects, including reading and interpreting construction plans and technical specifications.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CEI experience.
  • Certifications: Possess the following NCDOT certifications or have the ability to acquire them within 6 months of beginning employment: NCDOT/ACI Concrete Field Tech, Grade I, QMS Asphalt Roadway Tech, Erosion & Sediment Control Level II, ABC Sampling, Borrow Pit Sampling, Conventional Density, and OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds, traverse rough terrain, walk or stand for extended periods of time, and work outdoors in all types of weather.
