Position Overview:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic services and exercise guidance to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in conducting patient assessments and executing complex treatment protocols.

Implements corrective exercise programs and treatment plans for designated patients as instructed by the supervising Physical Therapist.

Utilizes therapeutic modalities, exercises, and equipment to enhance mobility, strength, and flexibility.

Educates patients on various aspects of their therapy regimen, including the correct usage of mobility aids such as wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic devices.

Continuously evaluates patient progress and collaborates with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust care plans as necessary.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY


Must be a graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education or its approved successor.


Possession of a valid driver's license is required, with a driving history that meets the Cherokee Nation underwriting standards.

QUALIFICATIONS


Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program as recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education or its approved successor.


Must hold a valid driver's license with a driving record that complies with Cherokee Nation underwriting criteria.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
In the course of performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively.

The employee frequently stands, walks, sits, uses hands for various tasks, reaches with arms, and may need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds is required, with occasional lifting/moving of more than 100 pounds.

Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess and maintain a Physical Therapist Assistant License issued by the Oklahoma Medical Board.

Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and maintain it throughout employment, which can be obtained during orientation.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS


The employee must not be under any sanctions imposed by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or the General Services Administration (GSA), nor listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers.

Compliance with pre-employment and periodic background investigations for child care is mandatory.
