As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial records of the District in strict compliance with TEA's Financial Accountability System Resource Guide and generally accepted accounting procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, monitor, and amend federal, state, and local special revenue budgets.
  • Review implementation of special revenue programs for compliance.
  • Review and approve special revenue purchases to ensure allowability under appropriate funding source, availability of funds, and appropriateness of accounting codes.
  • Monitor yearly closeout procedures and prepare year-end audit entries.
  • Liaison with state and federal accounting offices to ensure compliance with fiscal requirements.
  • Liaison with campus and other district personnel as necessary to maintain integrity of special revenue funds.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance.
  • Certification as an accountant or auditor preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in public fund accounting preferred.
Working Conditions:

This position requires regular and reliable attendance, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate will be able to maintain emotional control under stress and work effectively in a team environment.
