Job Overview

Are you passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to recovery? Gateway Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Recovery Specialist to empower those overcoming addiction. This role is essential in fostering a supportive environment for individuals to navigate their recovery and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Builds trusting relationships with clients, ensuring dignity and respect through professional communication and appropriate boundaries.
  • Educates and encourages the development of skills necessary for successful recovery.
  • Facilitates access to various services, options, and resources available to clients.
  • Encourages the use of community resources and collaborates with other agencies to meet the needs of clients and their families.
  • Supports clients in cultivating a sense of wellness, self-esteem, and recognition of their unique strengths.
  • Incorporates ongoing feedback from clients to tailor services that address their individual goals and support their recovery journey.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in electronic medical records, ensuring timely completion of all required paperwork.
  • Engages in both group and individual supervision to enhance professional development.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience interacting with individuals in recovery.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office.
  • Exceptional listening and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Eligibility for certification through the Pennsylvania Certification Board.
  • Personal experience with addiction and recovery is essential.

Additional Requirements

  • Successful completion of a PA Criminal Background Check.
  • Obtaining Child Abuse and FBI Clearances.
  • Passing a Drug Screen and TB test.
  • A minimum of 18 months of personal recovery from substance dependence.

Work Environment

  • Work within a Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation setting.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use are expected.
