Job Overview

Pennybyrn, a leading provider of senior living services, seeks a skilled Payroll Manager to oversee the full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processing for our large employee base (500+). The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, organizational, and customer service skills, with a strong background in managing complex pay codes, taxes, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for a large volume of employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage complex pay codes, differentials, taxes, deductions, garnishments, and benefits.
  • Develop and implement effective accounting processes, including submitting CMS payroll-based journal (PBJ) and General Ledger accounts.
  • Conduct hours analysis, discrimination testing, and 5500s, as well as other functions within the Accounting Department.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of high-level, high-volume, complex Payroll experience, preferably certified (CPP).
  • Experience with payroll software, such as Proliant or equivalent, and time-keeping software.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to meet critical business deadlines with efficiency and multitask.
