Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Manager is a licensed professional responsible for the strategic planning, organization, direction, and delivery of safe and effective pharmacy services to our patients. This role ensures compliance with company policies, current pharmacy practices, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient eligibility for home care services and oversee the quality of care provided by pharmacy personnel.
- Manage daily pharmacy operations, ensuring effective communication and operational efficiency.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, scheduling their activities to meet patient pharmaceutical care needs.
- Mentor and develop staff through onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Oversee procurement, inventory management, and budgetary controls for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Assist in preparing and managing departmental budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
- Collaborate with sales teams and management to provide accurate information regarding available services.
- Collect and analyze patient-specific data to prevent and resolve medication-related issues.
- Monitor clinical documentation and ensure compliance with established pharmacy care plans.
- Coordinate on-call pharmacy services, ensuring reliable coverage and support.
- Ensure compliance with all accreditation, legal, and safety regulations in the management of investigational drug products.
Supervisory Duties:
Yes, this role includes responsibilities such as hiring, performance evaluations, and staff development.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school.
- Active Pharmacy license from the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of 5-7 years in a clean room or infusion pharmacy setting, or 3 years with relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role, including staff development and operational oversight.
- Experience in budget management and departmental financial planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a post-graduate residency program in clinical pharmacy services.
- Board certification in relevant pharmacy practice areas.
- Experience in inventory management and logistics.
