Application Engineering Development Program

Job Description:
As an Application Engineer at The Timken Company, you will play a critical role in analyzing customer application requirements and business goals to develop optimized bearing/system solutions. You will be the technical contact assigned to a product line, application type, or market segment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand internal and external customer needs by developing analytical models for customers that meet their engineering needs.
- Perform studies and analysis covering a broad spectrum of complex bearing applications and assemble comprehensive customer proposals.
- Identify solutions by selecting bearings and components, and lead new product/process requests and/or new product development projects.
- Review and ensure the systems surrounding the bearings and mechanical power transmission components will provide top performance.
- Compare all potential solutions for manufacturability, cost profile, and other attributes relevant to the customer.
- Present solutions to internal and external customers.
- Provide on-going technical assistance to the customer during various product cycle phases; concept design, development, launch and service life.
Educational Requirements:
- College graduate (Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree).
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
- Engineering internships/co-ops preferred.
- Leadership experience demonstrated in academic or extra-curricular activities, or during employment.
- Ability to relocate to our World Headquarters in North Canton, Ohio.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
