Job Responsibilities:

The Retail Pharmacist plays a crucial role in the community pharmacy by dispensing both prescription and over-the-counter medications to patients.

This position involves actively addressing prescription inquiries and providing guidance to healthcare providers regarding medication selection, dosage, interactions, and potential side effects.

The pharmacist is responsible for counseling patients on their medication regimens, covering aspects such as:
- Proper administration
- Possible side effects
- Expected outcomes
- Storage requirements
- Addressing any patient inquiries

Additionally, the pharmacist will oversee the dispensing of outpatient factor products for specialized treatment centers.

Key duties include:
- Reviewing prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness
- Providing comprehensive information on drug interactions and proper medication storage
- Monitoring patient health and progress in relation to their medication therapy
- Adapting to new technologies as the pharmacy profession evolves
- Offering clinical supervision to pharmacy support staff

In institutional settings, the pharmacist will:
- Review and interpret provider orders
- Provide drug information and problem-solving assistance
- Engage in pharmaceutical care practices

The pharmacist will also assess the pharmaceutical needs of diverse patient populations, including:
- Neonates
- Pediatrics
- Adolescents
- Adults
- Geriatrics

Compliance with all regulatory standards governing pharmacy practice is essential. The pharmacist may also serve as a shift supervisor under the guidance of department management.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceuticals and relevant regulations
- Previous hospital experience or residency is preferred
- Active license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy
