2nd shift - 32 hours

Job Summary

Certified Nursing Assistants at Masonicare at Mystic assist residents with activities of daily living and personal care to maximize independence, freedom of choice and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with essential activities of daily living and personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, ambulating, toileting, assistance with meals and nourishment, personal hygiene, and care of ADL devices.
  • Assist with instrumental activities of daily living, such as placing and/or receiving telephone calls, performing light housekeeping tasks, assisting with laundry, escorting the resident, and coordinating internal transportation needs.
  • Assist residents with self-administration of medications through cueing only.
  • Observe and report changes in residents' physical condition and cognitive/emotional status to ALSA Supervisor or Director of Assisted Living Services, as needed.
  • Conduct room checks on resident rounds, monitor for environmental safety hazards, record incidents, errors, or accidents, and record resident and resident-related events.
  • Assist with dining tasks, such as escorting residents, set-up and clean-up, and serving meals.
  • Participate in and support the resident-centered activity program, completing required written documentation concerning resident care and activities during shift.
  • Act as a resident advocate at all times, following agency policies concerning confidentiality.
  • Use tactful, diplomatic communication in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations, following up with appropriate staff, resident, or others regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements

No experience required. CNA Certification is a must.
