Position Overview:

We are seeking skilled Overnight Paramedics to deliver both advanced emergency and non-emergency medical care. The role involves responding to urgent calls, administering medical services, and safely transporting patients to healthcare facilities while providing continuous care during transit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth by the State of Tennessee.
  • Respond promptly to both emergency and non-emergency medical requests.
  • Evaluate patient conditions and establish appropriate treatment plans in accordance with approved medical protocols.
  • Administer medications as per established medical orders.
  • Utilize backboards and restraints to ensure patient safety during transport.
  • Assist in transferring patients to emergency departments and communicate observations and treatments to healthcare staff.
  • Document all medical care provided in a patient care report.
  • Maintain equipment and replace used supplies after each call.
  • Safely operate an ambulance during patient transport.
  • Facilitate patient transfers between medical facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid Paramedic License issued by the State of Tennessee.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated proficiency at the Basic Life Support (BLS) level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and effective communication.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Current CPR Certification is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACLS Certification.
  • PHTLS Certification.
  • ITLS Certification.
  • National Registry Certification.

Employment Conditions:

  • Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment physical examination, drug screening, and background check.
  • Annual TB and rubella screenings may be required.
  • Compliance with the Vital Medical Transport Compliance Program is essential.
  • All certifications and licenses must be maintained throughout employment.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and noise.
  • Physical demands include heavy lifting and the ability to perform extensive physical activity.
  • Must be capable of evaluating potentially hazardous situations and maintaining composure.
  • Work may involve contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials; adherence to safety protocols is required.
