Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Property Technician to join our team at Southminster Presbyterian Church. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of our building and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of all property, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for buildings and equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend lifespan.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with contractors and vendors to maintain and repair facilities, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Work Order Management: Receive, manage, and process work order requests, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations throughout the facility, maintaining a safe and functional environment.
  • Event Support: Set up and tear down rooms for church events and rentals, including basic AV equipment.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Attend weekly staff meetings and monthly Buildings and Grounds Team meetings, fostering open communication and collaboration with staff and congregation.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Possess technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong communication skills, able to work collegially with staff and congregation.
  • Independence and Self-Motivation: Be self-motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Organizational and Attention to Detail: Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring quality work and service.
