Key Responsibilities:- Supervises nursing staff (RN and MHS staff) in their day-to-day duties on behalf of Nursing Leadership
- Provides support during medical and psychiatric emergencies and assists with debrief activities
- Coordinates and facilitates night shift admissions or transfers to emergency departments, following Admissions department processes; serves as a resource to inpatient staff
- Performs administrative duties, including assisting with staffing (e.g. unplanned absences and schedule issues) for the next shift or for the following day
- Completes documentation for necessary forms
- Triages and expedites issues of concern to the Administrator on Call
- Provides an on-site clinical leadership presence for troubleshooting issues that may arise
- Collaborates with patients and nursing staff to ensure quality of care
- Communicates information to relevant departments, including Intake
- Provides nursing staff with clinical instruction or guidance, when required
- Assists with orientation of new night staff
- Ensures policies and procedures for patient care are in compliance
- Maintains standards required by regulatory and accrediting bodies
- Facilitates resolution of questions and issues relating to departmental operations
- Provides on-site supervision, in the absence of the Nursing Director or Manager
- Interfaces collaboratively with adjunct services and departments
- Communicates in a timely manner to relevant personnel on other shifts
- Procures supplies, equipment or medications, as needed
- Assists with rapid covid testing, as needed
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Master's degree in psychiatric nursing or BSN degree
- Licensure: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Skills/Experience: MSN – 18 months experience in psychiatric inpatient setting BSN – 3 years experience in a psychiatric setting
