Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EMS Laboratory Instructor to join our team at Laurel Ridge Community College. As an EMS Laboratory Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering training and retraining to students in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program, ensuring that they meet the standards of the current text and skill sheets used by the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver training or retraining as necessary on skills according to the standards of the current text, current level of the students, and the skill sheets used by the program.
  • Assure that psychomotor and affective competency are evaluated according to the established criteria and documentation completed as needed.
  • Ensure that equipment and supplies are overseen appropriately, both for the safety of students and faculty, and for the protection of expensive resources.
  • Restock equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure that proper PPE is used as needed for the skill being taught.
  • Complete College timesheet as directed.
Requirements
  • EMT, AEMT, Paramedic or RN with EMS field experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the field.
  • Credentialed and Completion of at least 1 Recertification Cycle at their current level of certification.
  • Proven academic excellence and subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or associate degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Paramedic license preferred.
  • Educational or training experience preferred.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position and cannot exceed 29 hours per week. The position is not eligible for health or leave benefits, but may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.
