About the Role

RAND is seeking an experienced Treasury Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Treasury department, you will be responsible for managing a broad range of day-to-day Treasury activities associated with liquidity, investments, financing, banking controls, and foreign exchange hedging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Treasury input for external and internal audits, and assist with corporate insurance and enterprise risk assessment.

Cash Management

Monitor the company's daily cash position and determine cash balances available for investment. Conduct analysis to project cash flow and determine the level of excess cash available or borrowing required.

  • Monitor short-term investment markets, recommend, and conduct cash investment transactions.
  • Recommend and conduct line of credit borrowing transactions.

Banking

  • Update and maintain bank software configuration.
  • Update and maintain authorized signer documentation. Serve as the primary interface with the bank to resolve transaction and administrative matters.

FX Hedging

  • Handle all aspects of FX hedging, including working with contracts and research staff to determine expected FX inflows.
  • Recommend and price optimal hedges by referencing FX futures, forwards, and options markets.
  • Execute and manage hedge contracts, including rolling, drawing down, and swapping.
  • Maintain an internal FX position report and reconcile to external reporting.

Long-Term Investment Fund (LTIF) & Voluntary Employees' Beneficiary Association (VEBA)

  • Track daily LTIF and VEBA cash position and expected cash sources and uses to project cash balances.
  • Consult with external Investment Consultants to recommend public market transactions to raise or invest cash and execute those transactions.
  • Execute, upon approval, day-to-day public market transactions required to implement decisions of the LTIF Committee.
  • Monitor and process daily capital calls and distributions from private funds.
  • Consolidate and reconcile multiple sources of investment information to create monthly and other periodic LTIF and VEBA activity reports.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day RAND administrative contact for private fund administrators.
  • Administer new and additional subscriptions to private investments.

Other Duties

  • Work with Accounting to resolve complex investment accounting matters.
  • Manage credit.
  • Confirm the accuracy of bond and swap invoices.
  • In concert with investment banks, test RAND swaps' counterparties' MTMs.
  • Assist with corporate insurance administration.
  • Assist with Enterprise Risk Assessment administration.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS/BA in Finance or Accounting or related field.
  • MS/MA in Business Administration preferred.

Experience

  • 8 years minimum related experience required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with MS Office and knowledge of accounting software packages (e.g. Workday).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with GAAP.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Experience with financial analysis, financial statement analysis, and quality assurance required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CFA, and/or CTP preferred.
  • Investment experience and investment accounting experience preferred.

Location

  • Santa Monica, Washington DC (Arlington VA), Pittsburgh.
  • Fully remote status is an option for this position.

Salary Range

$117,700 to $179,700

RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity.

The salary range includes base pay plus RAND's sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken). In addition, RAND provides strong benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid time-off, and more.
