About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure Design Center in Harlingen, Texas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing power distribution, instrumentation, and control designs for various water and wastewater projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed designs for water and wastewater treatment plant power distribution systems, including one-lines, power plans, lighting plans, grounding plans, and electrical details.
  • Develop detail control schematics, control systems development, instrumentation systems, SCADA systems, and power monitoring systems.
  • Prepare design calculations, such as load flow calculations, short circuit calculations, and equipment sizing, coordinating with other support discipline activities on projects.
  • Coordinate with regional Garver offices and regulating agencies, construction cost estimating, and quality assurance and control.
  • Assist the Electrical Team Leader in managing and mentoring teams, coordinating schedules, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 4+ years of industry experience in electrical power distribution and control system design within industrial processes.
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) or ability to have within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic knowledge and skills experience with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Skills
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit CAD programs.
  • Working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment plant/pumping systems.
  • Working knowledge of SCADA network communications.
  • Working knowledge of industrial power distribution systems and control schemes.
