Automotive Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Shively Diversified Management Services. As an Automotive Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in enhancing and refining the automotive manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities- Process Analysis: Analyze powertrain part prints, identify and organize all features and dimensions produced during the machining process, and create an Excel list in a provided template.
- Quality Control: Use the quality Control Plan to identify which part print features are being checked, note gaging or measurement method and frequency in the Excel template.
- Cutting Tool Management: Review cutting tool preset machine programs or Tool Control document to find additional features of the cutting tool that are being checked at this point in the manufacturing process.
- Feature Identification: Make note of part print features not being checked either by the Control Plan or the Tool Control document.
- Reporting: Provide a list of all features and their inspection method or lack of inspection method for review by the plant.
- CAD Software Utilization: Utilize CAD software for drawing review and analysis.
- Task Prioritization: Must have the ability to prioritize and identify the proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
- Communication: Ability to communicate with team members and management, providing regular updates on process improvements, challenges, and potential issues.
- Discrepancy Analysis: Analyze prints, processed, and work orders to identify discrepancies that could create production or quality issues.
- Education: Open for project work, with a bachelor's degree in engineering or similar experience is preferred.
- Software Skills: Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Process Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, and design principles.
- CAD Proficiency: Experience using CAD software and knowledge of how to use AutoCAD is ideal.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines.
- Manufacturing Methods: Solid understanding of high-volume manufacturing methods, processes, and machining.
- Project Management: Excellent project management skills, able to work remotely and with limited direction.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an intermediate knowledge of Excel.
- Certifications: Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
