Job Title: Mechanic

Russell Marine LLC is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining company-owned equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, with experience working with hydraulic cranes and friction cranes. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, making necessary repairs, and performing routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule regular maintenance for industrial machines and equipment
  • Conduct planned maintenance, including examining parts for damage or excessive use, repairing and replacing damaged or worn parts, cleaning, lubricating, assembling, and testing equipment
  • Diagnose and examine faults or malfunctions in equipment to determine repairs using engine diagnostic equipment
  • Order materials and supplies needed for repair and maintenance of equipment
  • Test mechanical equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specifications
  • Adjust and maintain industrial machinery using control and regulating devices
  • Perform general facility maintenance and clean-up tasks
Requirements:
  • Education: Must possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or be willing/eligible to obtain one upon hire
  • Experience: 3 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, hydraulic cranes, and friction cranes
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA): Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings, proficiency in computer diagnostic equipment and software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, hydraulic cranes, and friction cranes
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA): General knowledge and skills in marine operations, such as pile driving, welding, crane operations, barges, etc.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid conditions. The individual must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required.
