MRI Technician I Job Description

The Geneva Foundation is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technician I to conduct magnetic resonance imaging scans on enrolled research participants. The successful candidate will be responsible for entering and monitoring participant data, transferring images from disk to magnetic media, and developing film in an automatic processor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Principal Investigator with data collection and entry
  • Transfer images from disk to magnetic media
  • Develop film in an automatic processor
  • Adhere to OSHA and infection control procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating a magnetic resonance scanner
  • Document all correspondence and communication pertinent to the research
  • Interact and communicate effectively with the research team and participants
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years' experience in MRI proficiency work
  • Healthcare background and/or degree preferred
  • Accredited training in a radiology program
  • Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) certification
  • Knowledge of military system preferred
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment
  • Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication
  • Knowledge of imaging techniques to perform routine tests
  • Knowledge of imaging equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and troubleshooting of instrumentation
  • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and database systems
