Position Overview:

The Project Engineer Intern will work under close supervision, contributing to the successful execution of complex or long-term projects while adhering to budgetary and scheduling constraints. This role involves supporting planning, estimating, and design efforts for the layout of equipment and facilities in both commercial and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recommend strategies to optimize the use of facilities and project resources.
  • Prepare Operations & Maintenance Manuals.
  • Engage in design and analysis tasks related to airside, waterside, and refrigerant systems within the comfort control sector.
  • Utilize general engineering principles and practices effectively.
  • Review contract documents, create site drawings, and design layouts for ductwork, piping, and electrical requirements.
  • Compile accurate and timely reports detailing work performed.
  • Order necessary equipment and manage external purchases.
  • Assist BAS engineers with programming, terminations, graphic development, and system testing.
  • Provide technical support to technicians as needed.
  • Address customer inquiries and fulfill special requests to maintain satisfaction.
  • Investigate customer concerns and implement corrective actions while communicating with staff.
  • Be flexible to work outside standard hours, including weekends, as required.
  • Travel as necessary for project needs.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a college or associate degree.
  • Basic understanding of estimating techniques and cost control practices.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Proficient in using computer systems relevant to job responsibilities.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting contracts, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to take responsibility.
