E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our substation design team, you will be responsible for designing deliverables associated with substation design projects for one of our largest electric utility clients.
Key Responsibilities- Attend project site visits to assist in the development of scope of work and help define project objectives.
- Prepare engineering cost estimates and man-hour estimates and schedules.
- Develop top-level documents for Electrical Physical and Protection & Control packages.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and/or designers in the development of detailed design documents.
- Perform calculations for studies and reports, including grounding & lightning protection, and AC/DC load studies.
- Prepare equipment specifications for procurement of major equipment.
- Perform quality control reviews of design calculations, and drawings.
- Provide short-term field support during construction.
- Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (Civil/structural, telecom, transmission, etc.).
- Serve as a technical advisor for the team.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience working in substation design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
