Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team at Firelands Regional Medical Center. As a Plumber, you will be responsible for performing planned preventative maintenance and completing associated documentation. You will also perform daily established plumbing rounds, accomplish minor mechanical plant corrective maintenance, and complete work order requests as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and complete associated documentation.
  • Perform daily established plumbing rounds and accomplish minor mechanical plant corrective maintenance.
  • Complete work order requests as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Ensure that supplies or waste from nursing units are properly disposed of and spills are contained and cleaned.
  • Document all work on Work Order forms.
  • Coordinate activities with other members of the Plant Operations team to expedite work.
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine procedure of constructing building systems and components.
  • Provide for the safety of department employees and ensure a safe work site.
  • Calculate material needed and develop material lists.
  • Order materials in a timely manner.
  • Develop material lists for hardware.
  • Perform general maintenance duties as needed.
  • Participate in department performance improvement activities as assigned.
  • Attend required training.
Requirements
  • High school or vocational school graduate.
  • Preferred Ohio Journeyman's plumbing license.
  • Three years of maintenance experience in a building trade setting, military, or other related experience that has demonstrated ability to operate and maintain typical maintenance tools.
  • Knowledge of proper and safe use of plumbing codes, hand/power tools.
  • Basic understanding of building systems such as electrical, plumbing, and light carpentry.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Works well independently or as a team member.
  • Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy.
  • Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident-free work place.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standards and transmission-based precaution recommendations.
  • Ability to utilize proper personal protective equipment.
  • Successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.
