Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Budget Analyst to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing position control functions for the University's Educational, General and Auxiliary budgets and maintaining detailed activities of position budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and monitor budget activities and account balances by position to budget units.
  • Verify availability of funds for State and Auxiliary Budget Personnel Action Forms, Supplemental Salaries forms and related budget transfers.
  • Review budget proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with University laws and other regulations.
  • Maintain budget documentation files to support budget activity.
  • Assist with the development of supporting schedules for preparation of the University's Annual Educational and General and Auxiliary Budget and also the Biennium Legislative Appropriation Request.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or higher.
  • One to three years of budget related experience.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, Local, and County laws, basic accounting practices and procedures, and University policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Banner and other job-related software systems, Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a routine office environment with occasional stooping, lifting or carrying objects of light weight.
