About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Roadway Engineer/Project Manager to join our team at TranSystems Corporation. As a key member of our transportation design team, you will be responsible for leading the design and preparation of plan submittals related to highway and arterial roadway design, complex intersection design, local roadways, site design, bridge replacement/rehabilitation, traffic design, and drainage design for various agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering and project management tasks related to the planning and design of transportation facilities such as freeways, arterials, intersections, and drainage.
  • Lead a design team that produces plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for transportation construction projects.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, QA/QC tasks, and prepare engineering reports, perform engineering calculations and analysis, and furnish technical documentation for design projects.
  • Lead the design team in the completion of technical efforts of design projects, including roadway, traffic, drainage, and site design projects and reports.
  • Manage projects both technically and financially to meet client expectations in completing quality projects on-time and on budget.
  • Participate in business development activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a Florida PE license (or licensed in another state with the ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • At least 10 years of design experience.
  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and various engineering software systems depending on engineering discipline: AutoCAD; MicroStation/GeoPak; Open Roads Designer.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or Boards of Directors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 to 20 years of FDOT design experience and Advanced MOT certification.
  • Masters Degree in engineering field (Civil, Structural).
