Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Steele Memorial Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine tests in various medical laboratory disciplines, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, and Urinalysis.
- Collect and process medical specimens, ensuring proper quality and quantity.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses of body fluids, including blood, urine, and spinal fluid.
- Perform blood counts and blood tests for transfusion purposes.
- Process and analyze medical specimens, including blood, stool, sputum, and throat cultures.
- Receive, analyze, and result water testing.
- Inform healthcare providers of laboratory results and notify them of critical values.
- Document all laboratory requests and results accurately.
- Perform daily and monthly quality control, maintenance, and cleaning procedures.
- Order and stock supplies as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need a two-year college or university program certificate or two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
