We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Virginia Water Resources Market Director. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in overseeing both the technical and financial dimensions of substantial projects, coupled with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities will include crafting proposals, engaging with current and prospective clients, and serving as a representative of AtkinsRéalis within the community.

The successful candidate will be part of the Water Engineering Technical Professional Organization and will collaborate closely with company leadership and technical experts to enhance our water business in the metropolitan area. This role entails membership in the US water leadership team, with overall accountability for the formulation and execution of strategic plans aimed at achieving growth targets. Key responsibilities include:
  • Identifying key clients and fostering strategic relationships.
  • Managing the regional project pipeline.
  • Representing the firm in various professional organizations.
  • Providing strategic oversight and management for significant projects.
  • Recruiting essential staff to support the firm's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relations and Marketing
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients while establishing new connections. Develop and implement strategic marketing plans for targeted projects.
  • Explore and assess new opportunities for project expansion by engaging with decision-makers.
  • Participate actively in civic and professional organizations to maintain visibility and professional courtesy.
Financial Management
  • Negotiate contracts with clients and sub-consultants, ensuring operational budgets are developed and approved.
  • Monitor project performance against budgets to ensure profitability.
Staff Administration
  • Assist in identifying staffing needs based on projected workloads.
  • Conduct performance reviews and career planning sessions with management staff.
Project Management
  • Support project teams in developing work plans and schedules, ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
  • Oversee financial performance and assist in identifying potential issues to mitigate risks.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 12 years of technical experience in water resources.
  • P.E. license is required.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
