Medical Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team in the Pulmonology department at Prisma Health.
Job Summary:
As a Medical Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films and performing routine diagnostic procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays, following established procedures
- FOLLOW prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment
- Instruct patients regarding procedures
- Examine radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification and distortion
- Develop and process radiologic film
- Deliver film to requester for reading/interpretation
- Maintain x-ray exam room
- Stock necessary medical and radiological supplies
- Clean and make minor adjustments to radiologic equipment
- Responsible for routine maintenance and vendor notification of failures
- Responsible for dissemination of x-ray reports and x-rays, maintaining a location log
- Schedule radiologic exams to be performed at outside labs, as necessary
- Gather and prepare x-rays with physician interpretation for radiologist over read
Supervisory/Management Responsibility:
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree: Completion of accredited radiology program
- SCRQSA license RSQA - RAD QUALITY STANDARD
- American Registry for Radiology Technologists (ARRT) certification for Radiology
- New graduates must obtain and submit Permanent SCRQSA license within 30 days of passing ARRT registry. May work with temporary B SCRQSA license for 30 days.
Preferred Requirements:
- One year physician practice experience
Work Environment:
This role is a Day shift position located at 1333 Taylor St Baptist, with the facility being 3281 Pulmonology 1333 Taylor 6F.
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
