We are seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at MedStar Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Medical Imaging Specialist to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for radiographic examinations by positioning them correctly, adjusting immobilization devices, and affixing radiation shielding.
  • Operate conventional, fluoroscopic, and portable radiology equipment to obtain routine radiographs of designated body areas according to physician specification and radiographic protocols.
  • Assist in the administration of drugs and/or contrast agents, calculate and select proper technical factors, and use correct film/screen combinations.
  • Process and develop film, enter data into the Radiology Information System (MARS) for medical records, billing, statistics, and quality assurance purposes.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring that the exam room contains the proper supplies for diagnostic procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • An Associate degree in applied science preferred.
  • Previous job experience in medical imaging.
  • ARRT certification within 1 year of hire date.
