Surgical Technologist Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at the Naval Center in Pensacola, FL.

Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing sterile techniques, setting up surgical trays, preparing and draping patients for surgery, and assisting with post-operative dressings
  • Ensuring surgical packs are cleaned and packed for sterilization after every procedure
  • Maintaining a clean, safe environment for the patient by actively cleaning clinical spaces, operating rooms, and medical equipment or guiding other personnel in environmental maintenance
Requirements:
  • Hold current national certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
  • Graduate from a Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
  • Have completed an appropriate training program for surgical technologists in the armed forces, at a CAAHEP accredited hospital or CAAHEP ambulatory surgical treatment center program, or complete the surgical technologists LCC-ST certifying exam within 18 months from the date of hire
  • Active BLS
  • 18 months of recent surgical experience
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residence
