Job Title: Controls Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Specialist to join our team at Schneider Electric USA, Inc. in Columbia, MO.

Job Summary:

The Controls Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for various production shifts, including fabrication, metal finishing, and assembly. This role will involve troubleshooting and determining root causes for downtime events, as well as identifying and eliminating production barriers for various levels of automation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for production shifts, including fabrication, metal finishing, and assembly.
  • Troubleshoot and determine root causes for downtime events.
  • Identify and eliminate production barriers for various levels of automation.
  • Update, modify, and continuously improve existing controls systems, including robotics, ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, pneumatic/hydraulic distribution.
  • Coordinate with production and maintenance on existing machine control modifications or installations.
  • Create, maintain, and keep current all documentation, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, PLC, operator display, operator interface, and robot programs.
  • Implement and maintain data collection systems for shop floor production equipment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-year college degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the Electrical field.
  • Must be open to working 2nd shift and weekends.
  • Experience with Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic Systems.
  • Strong PLC programming skills.
  • Electrical/Mechanical CAD experience.
  • Motion Control experience.
  • Robot programming experience.
  • Machine Vision experience.
  • Ability to prepare, read, and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
