We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care by efficiently and effectively managing the registration and scheduling process.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and Scheduling: Verify patient demographic information, collect and update registration data, and schedule appointments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to patient registration and scheduling, escalating concerns to management as needed.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the patient experience and improve operational efficiency.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: 2-3 years of customer service or medical office experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; proficiency in computer data-entry/typing; ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Additional Education: Additional education or training in a healthcare-related field may be beneficial.
- Language Skills: Additional language skills may be advantageous in a diverse patient population.
- Healthcare Experience: Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient scheduling and/or registration, may be preferred.
