Fish and Wildlife Technician II

The Fish and Wildlife Technician II will be responsible for implementing daily technical activities associated with the maintenance and enhancement of the 11,173-acre Sloughs Wildlife Management area in Corydon, KY. Under the supervision of the WMA foreman, the candidate will be responsible for implementing habitat management on public land in the Green River Region.

• Manage habitat activities such as strip mowing and disking, preparing food plots, and chemical application to meet habitat management goals.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles, tractors, equipment, buildings, roads, and area infrastructure when required.
• Facilitate managed hunts and public use of the area.
• Collaborate with co-workers in the collection of biological data and wildlife survey/monitoring activities.
• Maintain administrative records and reports, including prompt submission of timesheets, activity logs, and receipts.

• High school graduate.
• One year of fishery, wildlife, or habitat management/development experience.
• Valid driver's license prior to appointment in this classification.
