Job Title: Fish and Wildlife Technician II

Job Summary:

The Fish and Wildlife Technician II will be responsible for implementing daily technical activities associated with the maintenance and enhancement of the 11,173-acre Sloughs Wildlife Management area in Corydon, KY. This includes managing habitat activities, performing maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment, and facilitating managed hunts and public use of the area.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage habitat activities such as strip mowing and disking, preparing food plots, and chemical application to meet habitat management goals.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles, tractors, equipment, buildings, roads, and area infrastructure.
  • Facilitate managed hunts and public use of the area, interacting professionally with members of the public.
  • Collaborate with co-workers in the collection of biological data and wildlife survey/monitoring activities.
  • Maintain administrative records and reports, including timesheets, activity logs, and receipts.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate.
  • One year of fishery, wildlife, or habitat management/development experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
