Job Summary:
As a Graduate Nurse on our Fitch unit, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver care to patients and families with needs ranging from basic to complex. You will create a therapeutic and caring environment, practice in a manner consistent with the Elliot Hospital Interprofessional Practice model, and utilize current evidence and relevant national/specialty standards to guide your practice.
Responsibilities:
- Embracing and promoting change to support optimal patient outcomes and an effective professional practice environment.
- Involving patient/family in goal setting and planning, and communicating that plan of care to patient and family for input; and to colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts and settings.
- Utilizing current evidence and relevant national/specialty standards to guide practice and/or performance and identifies areas for improvement.
- Demonstrating competent clinical practice utilizing clinical decision making and critical thinking skills.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with active enrollment in a BSN program (signed BSN commitment form needed). BSN preferred.
- Ability to obtain BCLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment.
- Nurses are expected to pursue professional certification upon eligibility or within three years of entering the specialty practice.
- Ability to advance basic computer skills as the health system adds new systems or performs upgrades to existing systems.
