Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Busser to join our team at El Encanto Restaurants. As a Busser, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and have a memorable dining experience.


Key Responsibilities
  • Set tables with clean linens, condiments, and other supplies to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
  • Clear tables after guests, wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths, and replace dirty tablecloths to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Promptly clean tabletops, chairs, booths, and the floor under and around tables between guests to ensure a clean and safe dining area.
  • Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for the next course to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Locate items requested by guests and provide them promptly to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Scrape and stack dirty dishes and carry them to the kitchen for cleaning to maintain a clean and efficient workflow.
  • Take soiled tableware to the designated area and unload, sort, and stack silverware, dishes, and glassware for cleaning to ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties to facilitate customer service and ensure a smooth dining experience.
  • Carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from the kitchen or supply areas to the serving counters to ensure timely service.
  • Clean up spilled food or drink or broken dishes and remove trash to maintain a clean and safe dining area.
  • Serve food to guests when servers need assistance to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Promptly greet guests as they are seated and serve ice water, coffee, rolls, or butter to guests to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Thank guests as they leave to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas or other areas of the restaurant, and mop or vacuum floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Fill beverage or ice dispensers to ensure a smooth dining experience.
  • Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers to maintain a well-stocked and organized workspace.
  • Communicate with servers and hosts or hostesses to expedite efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service.
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate guest requests to servers as needed to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide guests with information about local areas, including giving directions to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Assist bus and expediter when necessary to ensure a smooth dining experience.
  • Take and prepare to-go orders to ensure timely service.
  • Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to ensure that patrons receive prompt and courteous service.
Requirements

Must be able to reach, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Basic computer skills and knowledge of Aloha and/or similar POS systems, as well as the ability to learn and master systems utilized by the organization, are required to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.

Decision-making, speaking, and writing skills are essential to ensure excellent customer service and effective communication.

Time management skills are necessary to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
