Lead Pharmacist, Ambulatory/Retail Full-Time Position

Penn Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Pharmacist to join our team in the Pavilion at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. As a key member of our pharmacy leadership team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our ambulatory/retail pharmacy services, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and supervise daily pharmacy workflow, ensuring all assigned work is completed and transitioned appropriately to the next shift.
- Resolve staff and operational issues, communicating with upper-level management as needed.
- Manage technology issues and escalate as necessary.
- Manage staff coverage and attendance, ensuring appropriate coverage and redistributing tasks as needed.
- Establish daily goals for the designated team to ensure performance expectations are accomplished in a timely manner.
- Address staff performance, escalating challenges to ensure individual and operational success.
- Monitor and document staff performance for performance evaluations.
- Manage purchasing and inventory issues, including loaning/borrowing medications and managing blood factor product consignment.
- Review, evaluate, and approve or deny non-formulary requests when Drug Information services are unavailable.
- Pharmacist License with the PA Board of Pharmacy (required).
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required).
- PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy (preferred).
- At least 2 years of Hospital pharmacy experience (Note that each residency year counts towards experience).
- PGY1 Pharmacy Residency (preferred).
