This part-time position requires 20 hours of work per week, with a mix of daytime, evening, and weekend rotations. We offer a competitive salary of $22.29 per hour, as per the AFSCME 1386B Working Agreement, along with access to benefits and opportunities for professional growth. As a Youth Services Library Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
  1. Planning and executing engaging storytimes for babies, toddlers, preschool-aged children, and families.
  2. Developing and delivering connected learning programs for youth, teens, and caregivers.
  3. Participating in outreach activities to reach underserved populations.
  4. Assisting patrons in finding reading materials and making recommendations from within the collection.
  5. Assisting patrons with using technology tools, including public computers, self-check stations, printers, and iPads.
Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic, with varying temperatures. The successful candidate must be able to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks effectively.
