Journeyman Diesel Technician

Kenworth Sales Company, a family-owned business since 1945, is seeking a skilled Journeyman Diesel Technician to join our team. With over 1200 employees across 31 locations, we offer a unique culture that makes you feel part of the family.

As a Journeyman Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing high-quality repairs to customer equipment and making recommendations for further services. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining our high standards of workmanship and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive repair order assignments from the Service Manager and perform work in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Advises the Service Manager of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer.
  • Determine if any further repairs or servicing should be recommended to the customer and communicate such recommendations to the Shop Lead and/or Service Writer.
  • Maintain a level of training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer's equipment.
  • Perform additional repairs required when any piece of equipment is returned by the customer because of the Technician's faulty workmanship.
  • Maintain accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked on the job.
  • Follow all Warranty Vendor guidelines while keeping the service desk informed.
  • Accept and represent the company department in all directed after-hours call-out situations.
  • Keep the work area in a functional and clean state.
  • Fortify a positive and cohesive work environment.
  • Aid and train apprentice technicians as directed by the Service Manager.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of truck repair and maintenance.
  • Five years of previous experience.
  • Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely.
  • Working knowledge of P/C and Laptop Computers.
  • Driver's License with a good driving record.
Working Conditions:

This is a physically demanding position that requires standing for six to eight hours per shift. You will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
