We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at FlexStaff Careers. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and communicate the age-specific plan of care and provide thorough reports at change of shift and relief time.
- Participate in turnover activities and room setup for each surgical procedure, including connection of suction, electrical cords, power cables, and electrocautery.
- Monitor each case to ensure all infection control measures are met and all sterilization standards are adhered to.
- Establish and maintain a sterile field and monitor the aseptic technique of the surgical team.
- Perform sponge, sharp, and instrument counts with the RN according to policy.
- Ensure appropriate and safe use of equipment and instrumentation prior, during, and post-operatively.
- Assist the surgeon with patient care procedures, including proper labeling of all specimens from the surgical field.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Surgical Technologist or in a clinical setting, required.
- Successful completion from a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologist, and holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), required.
The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
