Key Responsibilities
As a Practical Nurse, your duties will encompass, but are not limited to:
- Gathering detailed information from patients and their families to identify primary health concerns and reasons for seeking care.
- Conducting initial assessments to evaluate patient needs and care requirements.
- Measuring vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rates, along with pain assessments and growth metrics.
- Delivering personalized nursing care tailored to the physician's treatment plan and the individual needs of patients across all age groups.
- Assisting physicians during examinations and diagnostic procedures.
- Reviewing immunization records to determine necessary vaccinations and administering them as required.
- Educating patients and their families on self-care practices and documenting the education provided.
- Maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with established protocols and regulations.
- Exercising independent judgment in the assessment, treatment, and referral of patients, adhering to privacy standards.
- Upholding the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Participating in ongoing professional development and quality assurance initiatives.
Work Environment
The position may require flexibility in scheduling, including shifts that cover weekends, nights, and holidays, depending on operational needs.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess relevant experience, as educational substitutions are not permitted. Additionally, foreign education must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
Applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship and may be subject to a background check. Compliance with health and safety regulations, including seasonal vaccinations, is mandatory. A pre-employment physical examination may also be required.
All candidates must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, endorsed by a recognized authority. Direct deposit of pay is a requirement for this position.
