Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support our healthcare team at JobRialto.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing patients for nuclear medicine procedures, administering radiopharmaceuticals, and operating specialized imaging equipment to support accurate diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Preparation:
- Ensure patients are adequately prepared for procedures by explaining the processes, obtaining informed consent, and collecting relevant medical histories
Radiopharmaceutical Administration:
- Safely and accurately administer radioactive materials (radiopharmaceuticals) via various routes, including intravenous injection, oral ingestion, or
Procedures:
- Operate advanced imaging equipment, such as gamma cameras, PET scanners, and SPECT scanners, to capture high-quality images depicting radiopharmaceutical distribution and behavior within the patient's body
Radiation Safety:
- Follow strict radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients and staff, including proper handling and storage of radiopharmaceuticals
Image Analysis:
- Analyze and interpret images obtained during procedures, collaborating with radiologists and physicians to provide precise diagnostic
Control:
- Conduct routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure functionality and consistent delivery of high-quality images, including calibration and maintenance
Record Keeping:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient procedures, radiopharmaceutical administration, and relevant information to ensure quality patient care and regulatory compliance
Patient Care:
- Offer emotional support to patients throughout their procedures, ensuring they understand the process and feel comfortable
Continuing Education:
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in nuclear medicine and technology by participating in continuing education and training, essential for maintaining licensure and

- Adhere to strict safety protocols related to radiation safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum of an associate's degree in nuclear medicine technology or a related field; a bachelor's degree may be preferred
Certification:
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist from recognized organizations (e.g., ARRT or NMTCB) is required.
Licensure:
- Licensure or registration may be required to practice as a Nuclear Medical Technologist, depending on local
Training:
- Completion of a clinical training program in nuclear medicine is essential, providing hands-on experience in procedures and patient care
Radiation Safety Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of radiation safety protocols and the ability to follow them rigorously
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide emotional support to patients and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team
Attention to Detail:
- Precision is critical, as errors in administering radiopharmaceuticals or analyzing images could lead to inaccurate diagnoses
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining nuclear medicine imaging equipment and software is essential
Ethical Conduct:
- Commitment to ethical and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and quality care
Physical Stamina:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift or assist patients.
