Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Engineer to join our team at TP Mechanical Contractors. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established company that offers competitive pay and a great benefit package.

As a Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating, installing, and repairing commercial piping systems. You will work closely with our subcontractors and represent the company in a professional manner.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in pipefitting/welding in field plumbing operations. Prior shop experience is a plus, and completion of an apprenticeship program is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate layout, fit up, install, assemble, and/or repair commercial piping systems including fixtures and equipment for piping systems.
  • Perform field fabrication of piping systems and set up task or project schedules.
  • Sweat, braze, and weld copper systems.
  • Install hangars or supports for piping systems.
  • Make adjustments to work sequences to meet construction schedules.
  • Manage materials to ensure timely completion of work scheduled.
  • Read blueprints and interpret specifications.
  • Correct punch-list items and make distributions as required.
  • Plan work to make efficient use of assigned manpower and other resources.
  • Inspect work-in-progress and completed work to ensure conformance to contract and specification.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and piping installation.
  • Ability to fabricate offsets.
  • Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
  • Able to do take-offs.
  • Able to install equipment.
  • Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
  • Good math skills.
