Job Summary

The Construction Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the construction team and ensuring the successful completion of road, bridge, and infrastructure projects. This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to maintain positive working relationships with project engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate field construction inspection and contract administration activities
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, contracts, specifications, and special provisions
  • Monitor and oversee the construction team to ensure quality of construction and safe work site operations
  • Analyze and/or perform scheduling using standard scheduling software
  • Initiate communication of project-related details to the project manager and client as necessary
  • Calculate and/or estimate quantities for project work and recommend authorization of payments
Requirements
  • Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years' experience in construction management of a variety of projects
  • Working knowledge of general design principles, safety and labor laws, and quality control and quality assurance principles
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to manage a staff of professionals and direct their efficient utilization on projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous project management and/or inspection experience on DOT or FHWA road construction projects
  • Current Professional Engineer license
  • Construction materials testing experience
