Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

At AtWork Medical, we are seeking skilled and compassionate Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurses (NICU RNs) for contract opportunities in Austin, Texas.
Job Overview:The NICU RN will provide exceptional care, monitor vital signs, and work closely with families to ensure optimal outcomes for the smallest patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct care to premature and critically ill newborns, including monitoring and interpreting vital signs.
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments according to physician orders and NICU protocols.
- Use advanced NICU equipment, including ventilators and feeding tubes, to support infant health.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate and support families, providing guidance on care procedures, feeding, and developmental milestones.
- Maintain accurate, detailed patient records, documenting care, interventions, and progress.
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and NICU care standards.
- Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions, making critical decisions to ensure the well-being of infants.
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required.
- Strong clinical skills in neonatal care, with the ability to handle high-acuity patients.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and family-centered care approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced NICU environment.
