Product Engineer - Hardware

Leggett & Platt Incorporated is seeking a skilled Product Engineer - Hardware to support our Engineering team in the Automotive business. As a Product Engineer - Hardware, you will play a crucial role in the research, design, and development of electronic hardware, including schematic design, design for EMC, and hardware layout.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop embedded electronic product solutions to meet customer needs by utilizing core part designs and technologies, ensuring compliance to IPC and other regulatory standards.
  • Complete various engineering efforts to design, prototype, and validate product design solutions in support of customer and internal core team timing requirements.
  • Maintain regular contact with team and systems integration engineering on technical issues, and derive hardware requirements from system requirements.
  • Establish and maintain adequate records of technical information, process methods, design and program details, and records to support reliable patent actions.
  • Ensure products are reviewed for best practice from a Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Ergonomics (DFE) perspective to ensure design delivery to product cost targets.
  • Ensure all needed compliance and audit deliverables are met.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Experience in Hardware Architecture and Schematic Design.
  • Experience in Electronics Simulations.
  • Experience in Calculations for Hardware Design.
  • Experience in Schematic Design.
  • Experience in Circuit/Layout Design.
  • Experience in Troubleshooting Multimeter and Oscilloscope.
  • Experience in ASPICE.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ASPICE.
  • 2 years' experience in an automotive embedded hardware product design role.
  • Experience with project launch cycles for automotive.
