Position Overview
Summary:
The role involves delivering nursing support to patients under the guidance and oversight of a registered nurse.
$7,500 SIGN ON BONUS - FOR ELIGIBLE EXTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuous observation of patients on cardiac monitoring systems.
- Identification of ECG abnormalities: Monitors cardiac display screens and alerts nursing and medical personnel of any irregularities, including rhythm changes that may indicate cardiac distress or acute myocardial infarction.
- Effective communication with nursing and medical teams: Promptly informs nursing and medical staff of any ECG alterations.
- Maintenance of monitoring equipment: Ensures proper placement of telemetry leads on patients, customizes patient alarms, and manages admissions, discharges, and transfers within the monitoring system.
5. Utilizes resources and equipment efficiently and appropriately.
6. Provides patient care as instructed by the Registered Nurse, prioritizing tasks in collaboration with the RN.
7. Engages with patients, visitors, and colleagues courteously within the scope of responsibilities.
8. Adheres to established policies and procedures while executing unit assignments, including documentation and familiarity with medical terminology.
9. Performs additional duties as required.
10. Ensures compliance with all responsibilities related to the position.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Additional Information:
Required: A High School Diploma or equivalent is essential. Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred but not mandatory.
Minimum Experience: Zero to six months.
Preferred: Active CNA certification in Connecticut is desirable. BLS/CPR certification is also preferred.
