Job Summary

The Medical Technologist is a vital member of our laboratory team, responsible for performing complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests in one or more sections of the laboratory to obtain laboratory results and data used for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
  • Ensure that all testing is performed accurately and resulted as ordered within turn-around-time expectations.
  • Obtain and prepare specimens for analysis, understanding specimen factors that can affect the accuracy of laboratory testing.
  • Operate various pieces of laboratory instrumentation used to obtain test results, performing instrument maintenance, calibrations, quality control, and test procedures.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure compliance with all hospital, regulatory, safety, and accrediting agency requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical or biological science OR HEW certificate with 4 years' experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficient in hospital, laboratory and office computer systems.
  • Ability to maintain continuing education and competency requirements as defined by laboratory policy and certification agency requirements.
