Collective Training Advisor

Position Overview:

This role is situated within the United States Army Reserve Command, specifically in the G-3/7 Collective Training Division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic guidance to the Division Chief and the Army Reserve Director of Training, G-7 regarding all aspects of pre-mobilization collective training.
  • Act as the primary coordinator for USARC exercise policies and directives, liaising with external organizations on matters related to Army Reserve exercise participation.
  • Design and implement collective training initiatives, including the Army Reserve Exercise Program and Annual Training Maneuver Combat Training Center rotations.
  • Contribute to budget formulation for the Program Analysis and Resource Review, ensuring inclusion in the Program Objective Memorandum and Command Operating Budget.
  • Assess Army Reserve exercise involvement to confirm that training goals are met and priorities are addressed.
  • Recommend collective training strategies, policies, and regulations to the Army Reserve G-7 and Command Group.
  • Oversee field grade officers, Department of the Army Civilians, and contractors.

Specialized Experience:

To qualify, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, which includes:

  • Managing both short-term and long-term joint exercise programs involving higher headquarters and various military and civilian agencies.
  • Interpreting directives and policies from command and higher headquarters that govern all phases of exercises.
  • Conducting analyses to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of joint exercise programs.
  • Executing a variety of analytical projects related to management improvement and long-range planning.
  • Justifying training budgets to ensure management approval.

This specialized experience is typically associated with positions at the GS-12 level in federal service.
