Job OverviewPosition Summary
The Fitness Trainer is tasked with overseeing the group fitness initiatives at Planet Fitness. This role involves guiding new members towards their fitness aspirations by crafting straightforward workout plans and demonstrating the correct usage of gym equipment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the fitness program, ensuring adherence to the established schedule.
  • Engage with members to discuss their fitness objectives and provide instruction on the safe and effective use of gym equipment.
  • Develop bi-weekly exercise updates featuring a diverse range of activities.
  • Fulfill class requirements based on the size of the facility and member attendance.
  • Support front desk operations, which includes:
    • Answering phone calls in a courteous manner and assisting callers with various inquiries.
    • Checking members into the system.
    • Facilitating new member registrations.
    • Conducting tours for prospective members.
  • Address member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the Assistant Manager or Manager when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Nationally Certified Training Certificate is REQUIRED.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is REQUIRED.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess a positive and energetic demeanor.
  • Punctuality and dependability are essential.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities; capable of interacting positively and professionally with members and colleagues, surpassing member expectations.
  • Strong listening skills with the capacity to empathize and resolve issues.
  • Exhibit professionalism in all interactions, utilizing appropriate behavior and language.
  • Current CPR/AED Certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to stand and walk throughout the shift.
  • Consistent verbal communication in person or via phone during the shift.
  • Able to routinely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous materials during the shift.
