About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Reverse Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a Reverse Engineer, you will play a critical role in understanding and analyzing complex systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing innovative solutions to real-world problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reverse engineer embedded systems to identify vulnerabilities and develop exploits
  • Develop and implement proof-of-concept capabilities to demonstrate the effectiveness of reverse engineering techniques
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate reverse engineering expertise into software development and cybersecurity initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest reverse engineering tools and techniques, and apply this knowledge to improve our team's capabilities
  • Communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in reverse engineering, software development, or cybersecurity
  • Proficiency in software debuggers and static analysis tools
  • Experience with one or more programming languages
  • Familiarity with assembly language and Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain TS/SCI+poly level clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in reverse engineering or software development
  • Knowledge of advanced vulnerability discovery tools and techniques
  • Experience with hardware debugging interfaces, code security mechanisms, and signal/protocol analysis
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
